Joking About Things That Aren’t Funny

cut up heartI went through a very difficult period with my boyfriend in 2007. We broke up after 7 years together, and spent 6 months apart. We worked through our problems and are stronger than ever now.

During the time we were apart I had a string of intense awakenings. Suddenly I recognized the warning signs I missed the first time because I didn’t take them seriously, or, because I was complacent about addressing them. Joking about things that aren’t funny, is a relationship warning sign. We did that, but we don’t do it anymore. So far in October I’ve heard two women joke to their husbands, “I want a divorce!” You know what? It’s not funny. Joking about divorce is never funny and it’s even less funny now that Saturn is in Libra. Take relationships seriously, or lose them. It’s time to work on relationships, to put effort into them, and to be vigilant about shouldering your fair share. I think that many people will yearn for, and consummate, a new level of commitment in their relationships, while others will slack, joke, and find their partner filing for divorce.

    Hello ;)

I just wanted to tell you I love your blog.. I just found about it a few hours ago and now I'm stuck here and I feel like i can go on reading your posts for hours!! Really good job!! I'm an astrology addict myself, though I have nothing to show for it (no blog or whatsoever).. I just love everything about astrology, but most of all I love (secretly) firuring out people.. just like you said!! Probably because of my Scorpio Moon…

Anyway… I intend to keep on reading… ;)) Thanks for the posts!!

I totally understand what you mean by not joking about things that aren't funny, but as someone who is perennially single, (and probably for good reason :p) and who has a Scorpio 5th House (house of joy and mirth) and a Jupiter in Aquarius (Jupiter being the planet of laughter and joy of course) I tend to be the guy who ends up joking about something that's not funny to defuse tension or something or just because I say it randomly–I dunno, it's like I can't stop myself sometimes! and then someone gets upset, and then there's the possibility of a minor emotional fracas which must be resolved, which is always a bummer for a Cancer Rising with Mars in Pisces. Oh the vibes! Buck up dear, please, this is unseemly! And it's usually all downhill from there as one could imagine.
