Moon/Midheaven Aspects

moon_midheaven_aspectsYou have the gift of intuition and ambition combined. Sensitivity colors your aspirations. Climbing the ladder is an emotional challenge. Conflicts arise between getting ahead and being nice. Career setbacks injure your ability to keep putting yourself out there. Career wins allow you to stretch your boundaries and take risks. You have a hard time moving forward with projects that don’t feel right. You’re not going to feel happy being lonely at the top, you’d prefer, “It’s cozy at the top.” You need guidance and reassurance along your trek to the peak. Whether or not you follow your family’s wishes regarding your career is a deeply personal issue for you. Your parents’ approval of your path matters to you.

You express your emotions clearly through your profession. You use your vocation as an outlet for personal moods. You bring a receptive, caring habitual response pattern to the working world. You let your feelings etch your path in life. You let your heart guide you. You listen to your intuition when it comes to making career-based decisions. You tend to be defensive and impressionable at work, imagining slights that may or may not be intended. If you’re not careful you could end up walling yourself in or lashing out at colleagues. Tension and stress on the job make you temperamental. Strife at work could cause you stomachaches or ulcers. It can be hard for you not to take things personally in work interactions. You get too emotionally wrapped-up in your assignments.

You worry that your colleagues might think you’re too soft. You want a career in which your contribution impacts others . You don’t want to just go through the motions. You’re not “phoning it in.” You put yourself in your work and you strive to inspire others at the gut level. You’d do well working with, and being an inspiration to, women. You could find yourself fulfilling a mentor role towards your colleagues. People look to you for guidance without judgment. Helping others along in their career is satisfying for you.

You are a public conservationist. The causes of those who have lesser status tug at your heartstrings and you can frequently be found to be an advocate for the underdog. Sometimes your personal feelings about things that are important to you cause you difficulty at work and could put your job in jeopardy. Public opinion matters to you. People perceive you as being a helpful person. You worry about how people might perceive you as a parent. Conflicts between having a career and being a parent come up. You know when to stop pushing forward and instead step back and receive.

The self-made woman. Career woman. Professional mom. Caring boss. A nurturing authority figure. A reputation for crying at work. A flexible attitude towards career responsibilities. Work-wife. Mother hen at on the job.

Planets in aspect to the MC (Medium Coeli), or Midheaven, are also always in aspect to the IC (Imum Coeli). Posts are split up between MC and IC to show the different point of view that each of the angles brings to the natal chart. To learn about the flip-side of Moon/Midheaven, read Moon/IC Aspects.

I’ve got to say that I’ve admired your blog for a while now. And I’ve been waiting for you to do an article on this aspect, so I was excited to see it! I’ve got the Moon conjunct the Midheaven in Scorpio by 0 degrees (also conjunct Pluto). I think the exact conjunction makes it super-influential in my life. Expressing your emotions through your profession is dead-on because I’m working to become a professional actor and writer and the arts is the perfect outlet for all my intense Scorpio emotions. Plus, as I’ve gotten older, I care much more about being seen as a kind, caring person. I think, when I was younger, I was so moody and defensive and, thus, the negative element of my Moon conjunct MC popped up. The having walls up in public and learning to break those walls down is very crucial. It helps with our success! It’s very appealing, makes people feel like they really know us. ๐Ÿ™‚

The thing is that I strive to express vulnerability and unguarded openness in the world (which actually makes me very different from the typical Scorpio Moon in that way; I have no choice but to be exposed!) but Pluto conjunct the MC also makes me come off very strongly. So, my reputation combines the sensitivity (Moon) and the power (Pluto), making me appear to be quite a paradox.

    Anyways, great post.

    • Thank you so much for reading, astro-lover. It seems like you have a great grasp of your public emotional personal. Hope to see you in comments for more posts ๐Ÿ™‚

My story exactly, and then some. My my Moon in Cancer conjunct Uranus, on the MC, opposite my Sagitarrius Sun. If I’ve had one job, I’ve had a hundred ! In my day, that was taken as a flake; in this day, the variety of experiences is a real plus; but inbetween it took a lot of soul searching in that regard. Astrology wrapped it up with a bow, perfectly and l (as well the times) have moved on. BTW I Love your photo representation!

    • It’s funny how now hardly anyone works at one place for 30 years like they used. I can relate, having a Gemini Midheaven ๐Ÿ™‚

Same here Gemini Mid Heaven and it makes me very restless when it comes to job. two years ago i decided to start my own business n investment. Can do job ๐Ÿ˜›

        • Good for you. The best option for Gemini Midheaven is probably not to have all of our eggs in one basket.

I AM the mother hen at work at least to two people. Haha I have a 1 degree conjunction in Aquarius.

Does this apply to people with Moon conj SN in the 10th house? Because it sure feels like it! I have my Ascendant ruler, Venus in Pisces, in the 6th house too. I really don’t want to work anywhere that isn’t “cozy.” I would hate to work in an extremely competitive or corporate environment.

    • Moon in the 10th house would certainly share similarities with Moon in aspect to the Midheaven. Although, with the Moon conjunct the South Node you’d want to be careful about using your image as a sensitive person to avoid hard work.
