Pluto / Descendant Aspects

Partnership that takes you into the underworld. You start a relationship with a vampire (metaphorical or not). Relationships transform you (duh). Relationships compel you to undertake extreme behavior. You want to feel the highs and lows of being with someone. You choose an equal then put that person through trials and tribulations. Relationships are like an ordeal. You want to clear out the dead parts of your being through relationships. But then, can you really have an equal, chill relationship with Pluto contacting the descendant? Is it even possible? Maybe.

Power struggles in relationships. Power dynamics. You probably can’t date people your own age. Sexual power struggles. Money power struggles. Marrying a billionaire. If there is no power dynamic, you’re not interested. He’s way older than you? She’s wealthy? She’s your boss? He’s your son’s best friend? The more taboo the better. Somebody needs to keep life interesting.

Bringing taboos into what should be out in the open daylight relationships. Marrying someone from a different class. Relationship from the wrong side of the tracks. Keeping relationships under control. Sugar daddies. Sugar mommies. Sugar babies. Kept women. Concubines. Why does the caged bird sing? Under my thumb. Master and slave. Dominatrix.

No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow. Alice Walker

Mud wrestling. Mud slinging. I’ve got you under my skin. Deep loathing of another person. Despising someone. A relationship that compels you to deviate outside your normal behavior. Death before marriage. So I married an axe murderer. Widows. Widowers. In love with someone who is dead. Love that never dies. Kill Bill. Severed marriages. Lasting affection, for better or worse. Stalkers. Obsession. Wanting a partner who is obsessed with you. Tumultuous relationships. Extreme relationships.

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any. ~ Alice Walker, The Color Purple

Winner takes ALL in relationship. Bitter endings. Savage divorces. Equally matched polar opposites. In trying to apply dominance over someone you expose all of your own weaknesses. Bringing up other people’s dirt causes you to expose your own dirt. Let sleeping dogs lie. Bringing out the worst in each other. Go knock yourself out.

Planets in aspect to the Descendant are also usually in aspect to the Ascendant. Posts will be split up between Ascendant and Descendant to show the different point of view that each of the angles brings to the natal chart. About AstroFix

I’m Michelle and I have an Aries Sun, Leo Moon & Virgo rising.

  • Norman Scherer

I have this transit coming up (Pluto conj Descendant) very soon and I feel a lot of these traits starting to appear in me and my life. When it occurs, Pluto will OPP my natal Sun Conj ASC, and Uranus and later on my natal Mars and Jupiter. My Sun is 23 deg Cancer, ASC 24 deg and Uranus 27 deg Cancer. Should be interesting!

    • A whole new level of depth in your significant relationships.

  • HeartsJack

I have Pluto 4 degrees below the Descendant, trine Moon in 2 and Sun in 11. It all does seem to apply to me, I need intense power struggles and taboos, and relationships that seem impossible. I wonder if there is something one can typically do to stabilize this stuff.

Further Juno, Chiron and Nodes parallel to that Pluto. The trine with the moon is within a degree, moon also opposes Neptune in VIII within a degree… Mars in 10 trines Jupiter/Lilith-DM in 1… I tend to magnetize all rooms Im in, much more intensely than I have usually been able to profit from.

    • I wonder if there is something one can typically do to stabilize this stuff.
I would say by purposely choosing those experiences rather than being passive or acting as if you aren’t responsible for your actions in unfolding events.

      • HeartsJack

I dont feel unresponsible but I suppose I could look for fulfillment of my taboos more actively.

    • Suzi Home Maker

I have Pluto in my 1st house, conj. my Sun and AC, in Libra. Apparently Pluto is in opposition to my DC I guess? My moon is in the 8th house with Jupiter, and I have 3 planets and NN in Scorpio! So I feel qualified in saying that you can change it. LoL. Not only because I’m Plutonian and change has been my whole life, but also because I’ve studied hard in personal, spiritual, and social development and have made great strides with myself. I used to be attracted to men who are very weird OR very intense. Now I realize I am looking for a man with very strong morals and values, super confident, but very compassionate. I need a warrior. I need a guy who won’t put up with my sh-t, but who is also very understanding that I’m working my hardest to change my crazy.
When you go deep into your taboos and intensity and explore it, it naturally starts to transform. For instance, I’m told my energy in a room can be intense also, depending on the situation, but I definitely get stares from people. Often I have a lot of anxiety around people because ‘sensory/psychic overload.’ So I’ve been working on confidence and relaxation to try and ease my intensity for them, but also be able to smile for me. Win-win. Dive deeper/reflect more into your experiences when you walk into rooms and you’ll figure out what you need to balance to get the affect/experience you’re looking for. 🙂 I guess the first step of Pluto power is owning it so you can eventually wield it.

  • Chijiru .

A lot of what you wrote here feels very true. Hits very close……

I always found Pluto energies to be very interesting. (For better or worse.)

    • Thank you for reading Chijiru 🙂

Which Pluto/descendant aspect do you have?

      • Chijiru .

Always look forward to your posts, so thanks for all the hard work.

Well, according to your work, a biquintile.
Do you have this aspect as well?

Whether you do or not, what is your outlook on Pluto in general? Do you like the energy you receive from it?

        • I have a close inconjunct …49′.

I’d say that I’m easy-going when it comes to relationships. It takes someone special to get me to compromise on my personal value system (compromise, not abandon!)

My outlook on Pluto in general is that it makes you deal with all the really dirty crap that you would rather not confront. It pulls you down into the underground.

Whenever I try to sidestep Pluto I realize that I pay for it by experiencing myself as being shallow, lightweight, and inconsequential. The only way to have gravity, influence, and self-respect is to deal with Pluto 🙂

major love goddess here, adored by many, controlled by none! Venus Taurus 7th, sq PLUTO Jupiter Moon Leo 10th.

    • Are you happy with that setup?

      • awake

everything worked out. (i have a wonderful family.) but i’m 60 now! i broke all their wee egotistical, megalomaniacal, dominating hearts, &i still look 35! none of those soulmates bested me. i never called. never begged. they wonder how they will ever find a woman as dynamic as me. they won’t!

        • awake

all kidding aside, i understand why my 4 big loves acted the way they did, as i study astrology! all doing the very best they could at the time. all a reflection of me, and my inner struggles to learn independence. i finally did, and am thrilled to be where i am. astrology provides the tools for absolute compassion and forgiveness, of self and others.

  • Kathleen

Yay, been waiting for you to get to Pluto/DC. Not only do I have the conjunction, but also Pluto & Scorpio in the 7th & traditional 7th house ruler Venus trine Pluto. I’ve read that the 7th house is also associated with the public & other people. So with Pluto/DC, does that mean the public/other people are obsessed with & attracted to a Pluto/DC person?

    • Hi Kathleen,

There could be overtones of that with the 7th house naturally squaring the 10th house. It could be that you are obsessed with being in the limelight as part of a couple. You could want someone to tag along with you on the way to fame.

      • Kathleen

Never thought of that. Also, I actually have Pluto sextile midheaven instead of square

i can relate.i’m Aries sun Leo moon Libra rising. i had gorgeous loves. absolutely brilliant minds. with ego’s to match. i was extremely in love. devoted, kind, but i was not willing to play 2nd fiddle. not suitable partners to realistic partnerships, although i was married 20 years to one. all is forgiven!
