A

take-charge attitude. Leaders. Entrepreneurs. Confrontational stance. A one-man show. A one-woman show. Fighting your way through life. Making more enemies than friends. Pushy. A steamroller. Spitting fire. Feminists. Anger. In your face. Confronted with anger. Provoking others. Red face. Fire-breathing dragons. Cross. Hot under the collar. Flash in the pan. Looking for a fight. The fire within. Firemen. Wanting to do something. Rebelling against life roles that are safe and boring. Wanting to be seen as sexy, daring, brave, and HOT. If it isn’t dangerous, it probably isn’t any fun. Heat. Animal sex appeal. Raw versus refined. Red meat and red wine versus green tea and tofu.

Being on a mission. Creating a battle plan. Fighting every day. Everyday warriors. Bounty hunters. Having energy to forge ahead. Having initiative to make a dent in the world. Wanting to lead rather than follow. Not caring about leading or following as long as you’re doing what you want to do. Forging your own path. Creating new paths. It hasn’t all been said and done. The will to break through restrictive molds. The will to go out on your own. Living alone. Choosing not to get married. Spending a good long time being single – and loving it.

In the 1986 documentary The Real Patsy Cline, singer George Riddle said of her, “It wasn’t unusual for her to sit down and have a beer and tell a joke, and she’d never be offended at the guys’ jokes either, because most of the time she’d tell a joke dirtier than you! Patsy was full of life.

The will to break through appearance-based stereotypes. The urge to forge independent patterns. Creating new body image ideals. Athletic bodies. Rugged bodies. Wiry bodies. The fire in your belly says not to conform. Lashing out. Speaking up. Not keeping your head down. The ability to go it alone. Standing on your own feet. Pulling yourself up by the bootstraps. Acting independently. Not looking for anyone’s approval or permission.

Standing apart from the crowd. No one is attached to your hip. Hating imitators. Not wanting clones. Being mean sometimes to get people to back off. Being brusque to brush off the hangers-on. Shake ’em off! The ability to act in your own self-interest. Taking care of yourself. Standing up for yourself. Defending the weak against bullies. Being the bully sometimes. Not letting yourself become a doormat. Taking on the reigns of your life. Cultivating a rugged self-image. A self-styled punk. Supermodels. Strut that stuff! Work it girl! Fierce. Unwilling to take on submissive roles. Needing to be in charge of your own destiny. Trouble settling down. Might take a while to learn how to compromise enough to keep a partner. You stand alone because you won’t let anyone lean on you and you won’t lean on anyone.

Angry faces. Scowling. Frowning. What’s wrong? Are you mad at me? Did I do something? Obvious expressions of frustration. Your impatience is palpable. Doing then thinking. Leaping first. Head first. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Sporty Spice. No desire to sublimate your desire nature. Telling it like it is. Rubbing people the wrong way. Forging a new path. Entering unknown territory. Scouting ahead. Applying energy towards whatever is put in your path. Onward! Nothing’s gonna stop you now. If you can’t beat ’em, beat ’em. Lacking sensitivity to others’ situations. Competitive by nature. Me first. Me second. Taking home the gold, silver, and bronze. Winner takes all. The spoils of war. Plunderers. Your body is a weapon. You hit your head too much. Headaches. Facial scars.

In 1961 when Patsy Cline was released from the hospital after a car accident “… her forehead was visibly scarred. (For the rest of her career, she wore wigs and makeup to hide the scars, along with headbands to relieve the pressure that caused headaches.)

People don’t mess with you. Ouch – you hurt! You get to the point … soften the blow! Self-direction. You don’t need people to tell you what to do. You’re your own boss. Muscularity. Tense. Stressed-out. Hard. Overly-masculine. The need for moist, feminine, soul force balance. You could use a gentler touch and a more refined approach at times. “You’d be prettier if you acted more like a lady.” Disdain for social graces. Grouchy. Gruff. You can dress him up but you can’t take him out. The Fast and the Furious. The competitive edge. Wanting to prove you are the best. Going after what you want un-apologetically. Take no prisoners. No holds barred. Macho, macho man. Bullies. Gangsters. Rebels. Punks. Hooligans. Single mothers. Military. Police. People in a position to do some damage.
